How I got lost because of Food
A few weeks after I arrived in Canada for
studies and resumed school, I decided to drop by at the Macdonalds’ restaurant
closest to school. I had an afternoon class and I was supposed to take lunch,
but I forgot to prepare something beforehand and I had run out of time, hence,
the Macdonalds’ option. 🍩
I wasn’t very used to navigating the area, and there
were lots of similar-looking streets and corners, though there were street
signs of course. I decided to use Google Maps to locate the restaurant, and
calculate how much time I had and whether I could make it.
I didn’t have a car yet, so I took a bus
and a train. I got off at the stop closest to the restaurant, and with little
difficulty, found my way there with Google maps and street signs. I got lunch and
came out of the restaurant. But I didn’t know what direction to follow. You
probably think ‘Why not go back the way you came?’ Right. Like I could remember
that. If you are "directionally" challenged like I am, you’d probably understand. 😁I mean, the other day I couldn’t find the fruits section at a big store.
You could guess what I did next. I opened
Google Maps - big mistake. I came out to a street, and started walking and
walking, following, or thinking I was following the directions on the map. My
location as shown on the app was very unstable, and that confused me further.
Still using my Gmaps, I walked in circles for some minutes. 😭By this time I was
already late for class. Fed up, I stopped a stranger and asked her for
directions. And that was the end of it.😫
Moral Lesson- Do not always trust Google
Maps. Sometimes ask people for directions.😵

Haa. That was how Googlemap took me to a dead end off memorial drive and told me I had arrived at my destination...
ReplyDeleteHahaha, missed my way so many times too. I've learnt to ask my hubby who is my authentic google maps.
